Rosario Bay has got to be one of my favorite places for a family session on and around Whidbey Island. The steep bluff does a fantastic job block the light when the sun is a little too bright, there’s a fun calm beach with tide pools, and oh year - GORGEOUS views that really remind you that you’re near the San Juan Islands.
Read MoreSummertime on Whidbey Island inevitably brings tons of visitors and tourists, many of whom bring extended family members along to celebrate birthdays or anniversaries, and they often make a whole vacation out of it. That's right, I live in a vacation spot people!
Read MoreThis incredible session was my second time working with mama Kirstin, and her two adorable boys. She invited me into her gorgeous home earlier last year to shoot an indoor motherhood session while hubby was deployed, but as soon as dad was back, she knew she wanted updated pictures with all of her favorite people in the frame.
Read MoreIn times like these I want to acknowledge how grateful I am to all of my clients. I'm so thankful that you trust e to work with your families, that you invite me into your lives and your homes, and especially that you return year after year.
Read MoreI’m finally blogging some of my favorite sessions from the past year(ish), and this one has been on the top of my list for months! I’ve been meaning to post the Campbell family’s gorgeous Deception Pass State Park family session for soooooooo long - no better time than the present, right?
Read MoreThis has to be one of my all-time favorite sessions from the past year (or ever)! I was lucky enough to work with Shannon and her beautiful family the year before, and mama had dressed her people to the nines without any prompts from me, which is always a photographer’s dream! That was before I offered styling services, and literally one of the reasons why I knew I had to move in this direction.
Read MoreThe first time I met this beautiful family, baby girl was in mama’s belly! Now she’s a vibrant, bubbling little babe and the light of mama’s eye. I met Katelyn and her gorgeous fam at Fort Ebey State Park for a lovely (and windy!) fall sunset session earlier this season.
Read MoreWhat can I say about this beautiful woman and her amazing family? It was such a treat to hang with them and document their incredible connection. When Aisha and I talked about her vision for her family session, she mentioned over and over how important it was to her to document their family together - and NOW.
Read MoreThis session reminded me how much I love working in Anacortes. While there aren’t a ton of locations to choose from, I can never go wrong with Washington Park. On this warm night, the sun was so lovely, the winds were calm, and the kiddos were so stinking sweet! And aren’t they all ridiculously good-looking?! It was kind of hard to stay focused - ha!
Read MoreYou know when you meet someone for the first time, and you just know that they are the coolest? That’s how I feel about this gem of a lady right here. My sweet friend (and amazeballs photographer) Kerry Lee introduced me to Lauren as she and her family were making the move to Anacortes. We hit it off right away, and I seriously wish she was my next-door neighbor!
Read MoreI’m getting caught up on blogging, and sharing one of my FAVORITE sessions from last fall. The light, the location, and adorable girlies - it was a perfect night. I still go back to these images as some of my favorite in my portfolio. Maybe it’s because the light is so dreamy. Maybe because I smile every time I look at the joy and love this family shares.
Read MoreThe busy season is here (for photographers at least), but I’m hanging in there and actually (dare I say?) enjoying the season?! I’ve learned some hard lessons over the years and one of them is to not overbook myself. So I’m catching up on blogging from the summer, editing from last month, and shooting sessions this month (only 1-2 per week), and with school starting (yay!), I’m finding peace and enjoying my work.
Read MoreThis family has been one of my faves ever since they moved across the street from us two years ago. Okay, we already had an awesome neighborhood, but the DuBois fam definitely added to the fun. And now that we know them and love them, of course the military would move them!!
Read MoreMilitary families are constantly in transition. So much so that you’d think they wouldn’t have time for annual family pictures, or that it would be too challenging to plan a family photo session with changing schedules, dets, and deployments.
Read MoreI'm still in denial that I'm not going to be grabbing margaritas with this beautiful mama anytime soon. The VR-61 family was so blessed to know, work, and play with the McColloughs. As the outgoing CO (Skipper) of the squadron, Gabe was my hubby Ryan’s boss, and his awesome wife Lindsey was the chief-party-planner of our spouse’s club. She made a huge effort to be here and support the spouses in our squadron, even though her home (and often kiddos) were in the Midwest.
Read MoreShelly and her boys found their happy place during a summer trip to the San Juan Islands. They traveled all the way from Texas, and now come back every year to enjoy some quality time together while taking in the beauty of the area.
Read MoreI met Carly and Bobby last fall, when we squeezed in the last possible photo session of the season. And it was COLD. Like, had to wear coats, seeking shelter indoors cold. They were amazing troopers, but we knew that this year we wanted warmth, sun, and clear skies.
Read MoreWhat can I say about this amazing family?? First of all - they are FUN, and they love each other fiercely. I had the pleasure of working with this beautiful family last year, when I convinced them that instead of taking pictures in their backyard (which they had always ever done), we should walk on the ferry and go get milkshakes in Port Townsend. We all had a blast - it was a major adventure and a session I'll never forget.
Read MoreSinging songs, climbing trees, running in and out of the surf. These are the things we do during family sessions. We play, we have fun, we make memories. Or rather - YOU make memories, and I capture them for you to hold on to for years to come.
Read MoreThis session was so much fun! Not only did this amazing family fly all the way from Minnesota to shoot with me (okay they were staying in Seattle for a family wedding), but mama is also a photographer (no pressure, right)?!
