Rosario Bay has got to be one of my favorite places for a family session on and around Whidbey Island. The steep bluff does a fantastic job block the light when the sun is a little too bright, there’s a fun calm beach with tide pools, and oh year - GORGEOUS views that really remind you that you’re near the San Juan Islands.
Read MoreWhere do we go from here? In the midst of COVID shutting down the world, all of my sessions were put on hold for several months, but living in the middle of nowhere comes in handy every once in a while. We've now been in Phase 3 for some time, so I've had a super-busy-crazy-summer trying to fit six months of sessions into three. But listen - I'm not complaining AT ALL. I'm so grateful to be working, and I've literally had my best season ever. I've worked with the most amazing families, and have so many plans in the works for next year.
Read MoreThis incredible session was my second time working with mama Kirstin, and her two adorable boys. She invited me into her gorgeous home earlier last year to shoot an indoor motherhood session while hubby was deployed, but as soon as dad was back, she knew she wanted updated pictures with all of her favorite people in the frame.
Read MoreIn times like these I want to acknowledge how grateful I am to all of my clients. I'm so thankful that you trust e to work with your families, that you invite me into your lives and your homes, and especially that you return year after year.
Read MoreI don't know about you, but I sure need some pretty big distractions from everything going on with the news and the virus going through the country right now. So here you go, friends! Some eye-candy that I've been meaning to blog for the past year, and here it finally is!
Read MoreI’m finally blogging some of my favorite sessions from the past year(ish), and this one has been on the top of my list for months! I’ve been meaning to post the Campbell family’s gorgeous Deception Pass State Park family session for soooooooo long - no better time than the present, right?
Read MoreThis has to be one of my all-time favorite sessions from the past year (or ever)! I was lucky enough to work with Shannon and her beautiful family the year before, and mama had dressed her people to the nines without any prompts from me, which is always a photographer’s dream! That was before I offered styling services, and literally one of the reasons why I knew I had to move in this direction.
Read MoreThe first time I met this beautiful family, baby girl was in mama’s belly! Now she’s a vibrant, bubbling little babe and the light of mama’s eye. I met Katelyn and her gorgeous fam at Fort Ebey State Park for a lovely (and windy!) fall sunset session earlier this season.
Read MoreY'all - this family is one-of-a-kind awesome-sauce. When Nikki contacted me about taking family pictures, she told me that they'd only ever had them taken in their backyard. Which I understand because they have five (amazing) kids and it's kind of just a big deal to get them all in the frame together.
Read MoreDrinking cold coffee while bare feet pitter-patter around you. Reading books with two little bottoms curled up in your lap. Squishing play dough through your fingers as you try to keep it out of mouths. Pushing the tire swing in the front yard while you watch the wind blow their hair. Taking shoes off and on and on and off as they move from inside to outside to back inside.
Read MoreAli and Carl are the most smitten parents ever. They are absolutely head-over-heels in love with every inch of their new son Owen. From his itty bitty toes to his full head of gorgeous blond hair, Owen is pretty easy to love. I love the pace of lifestyle newborn sessions. When baby needs a break, we take a break. As Ali fed Owen, we talked about how she and Carl met, how they bought their first home, and the plans and projects they have as they make it their own.
Read MoreHoly cow - this session was such a treat for me to shoot. As an Auntie to boy-girl twins, I have a special place in my heart for what an incredible miracle this family has been blessed with. I met Heather earlier this year when she joined our MOPS group and was assigned to my table. She fit in immediately and I quickly realized that Heather is one of those special people that you feel like you've known your whole life.
Read MoreBaby Charlie is about as cute as babies come. And in his family of seven, he's got quite a lot of competition between his four older brothers and sisters. Mom and dad clearly have their act together, sharing and splitting both snuggle-time with Charlie and play-time with the older kiddos.
Read MoreThis little guy had quite the weekend celebrating both his baptism ceremony and first birthday party on Whidbey Island, WA. I met the handsome Mr. Theodore Council when I documented his baptism ceremony the day before, and the party continued as family and friends gathered to celebrate a year of firsts that ended with - what else?! CAKE!
Read MoreWhat a beautiful, blessed day this was! I was lucky enough to spend the morning with this large, loving family as they witnessed Theodore Council's baptism ceremony. And what a child of God this little man already is! Honestly - at just one year old, Council is one of the happiest babies you will every meet. And he is so very loved, not just by proud parents Jackie and Cooper (both in the Navy), but also by all the family and friends who traveled from across the country to celebrate this amazing little boy.
Read MoreNewborn lifestyle sessions are quickly becoming my favorite sessions to shoot. There is such a calm and ease when you're with a family in their home, watching new parents count ten little fingers and ten little toes over and over again. The daily routines, still coming together, show the love and adoration both mom and dad have for their brand new baby.
Read MoreHave you ever had an “aha!” moment? Like when you finally figure out that this – THIS – is what you’ve been trying to do? And everything sort of changes? This lifestyle session did that for me.
