I met Carly and Bobby last fall, when we squeezed in the last possible photo session of the season. And it was COLD. Like, had to wear coats, seeking shelter indoors cold. They were amazing troopers, but we knew that this year we wanted warmth, sun, and clear skies.
Read MoreWhat can I say about this amazing family?? First of all - they are FUN, and they love each other fiercely. I had the pleasure of working with this beautiful family last year, when I convinced them that instead of taking pictures in their backyard (which they had always ever done), we should walk on the ferry and go get milkshakes in Port Townsend. We all had a blast - it was a major adventure and a session I'll never forget.
Read MoreI feel so blessed to know this woman. Not only is Anastasia a fellow photographer at June Bug Photography, but she's also a friend. Oh, and she works full-time in the Navy as well. I have NO idea how she holds down two full-time jobs and still manages to be such an awesome mama and wife, but it's just reason #896 why she's amazing.
Read MoreThis family loves hard and laughs often. They play together, support each other, and have FUN with one another. Mom Crystal is the center of everyone's worlds, keeping it all together between work schedules, school, and activities. And she always has a smile on her face. Read MoreWhat a fun night I had documenting this sweet family! I just loved watching Kristen and Jon love on their girlies - especially since my girls are roughly the same age apart (although they're a bit older now). We had such a great night exploring, throwing rocks, singing "Wheels on the Bus," and watching these adorable sisters hug via head-butt. It was a night to remember!

No feeling of "well now I know everything so that's that." You practice, find the subjects and lighting and ambiance that makes the hair on your arms stand up - and you chase it. You fall down, get back up and keep moving forward. You judge yourself, test your abilities, stay up WAY too late WAY too many nights. And you can't get enough of it.
Read MoreWhat a treat it was to finally work with Morgan and Nick. I say finally because I was originally supposed to shoot Nick's homecoming back in December, but once we arrived at the hanger we learned that the plane had to turn around and would be coming home a few days later. My heart broke for Morgan and all the other families who had to tack on a few more days to the months and months they'd already been apart from their loved ones.
