Bowman Bay Sunset Beach Session | WHidbey Island Family Photographer
What can I say about this amazing family?? First of all - they are FUN, and they love each other fiercely. I had the pleasure of working with this beautiful family last year, when I convinced them that instead of taking pictures in their backyard (which they had always ever done), we should walk on the ferry and go get milkshakes in Port Townsend. We all had a blast - it was a major adventure and a session I'll never forget.
This year we kept it "simple" and hiked to a beautiful hidden beach at Bowman Bay, just off of Whidbey Island. We had a bright and sunny night to play and get our feet in the sand (and try to keep the baby from walking straight into the water!).
I've known Nikki for a few years and her mama skills are next level. Not only does she work full-time while raising a bunch of awesome kiddos, but she's also the mom who volunteers, makes it to games, and goes above and beyond to take care of her family.
On a recent zoo field trip (with 125 kindergartners), I was patting myself on the back that I showed up to be an "assistant" volunteer. And there was Nikki, serving as a lead volunteer, handing out individual "zoo day" bags to each and every kid with fruit snacks and snazzy tiger sunglasses. She's incredible!
Nikki doesn't plan her family pictures until Brad's oldest daughter is with them over the summer. She loves Laney to the moon and back, and tries to make their time with her special and fun. She told me that Laney had shared with her that she felt lucky, because her parents all get along so well and she feels loved by everyone. And man is she ever (check out the image below of her hugging her dad - it nearly brings me to tears!).
I always feel so lucky to be around this family, so photographing them is really special for me. Until our next adventure Tesch fam!
