My First Post-COVID Newborn Session | Whidbey Island Family Photographer

Where do we go from here? In the midst of COVID shutting down the world, all of my sessions were put on hold for several months, but living in the middle of nowhere comes in handy every once in a while. We've now been in Phase 3 for some time, so I've had a super-busy-crazy-summer trying to fit six months of sessions into three. But listen - I'm not complaining AT ALL. I'm so grateful to be working, and I've literally had my best season ever. I've worked with the most amazing families, and have so many plans in the works for next year.

Oh, sweet baby Jack. Watching your mama and daddy gently hold you and kiss the top of your head took me back. Your every move is watched and catalogued just as much as your big brother's arrival was, but there's a calmness since you joined the family. Because mama knows exactly what you need. And daddy knows he's not going to break you. They also know how quickly time will pass. How fleeting these first days with you are.

One of the craziest things about being a Washington photographer is that the light is constantly changing. I mean every night at the same location can look different. You have to be able to adapt, and you get really good at making the most out of grey and overcast skies.
