I am finally getting back with the program and starting to blog all the gorgeous sessions I was lucky enough to shoot this fall. And with all the anticipation and delight that comes with that wonderful, life-changing news, they wanted to embrace and document the chapter of their lives when it was still just two. We shot a beautiful couples session at Bowman Bay, and I watched these two amazing souls melt into each other. It was so lovely, and honest, and beautiful.

And seeing Katie and Brad's first homecoming reunion brought back all the butterflies that I remember from seeing Ryan walk off that plane and back into my arms during our first deployment. It's like your first date and wedding day all rolled into one beautiful moment.

Introduced by family and friends who understood that the joy these two bring to any situation, the playfulness and laughter they find throughout each day could find a permanent home in each other, Alysa and Ryan hit it off from their very first date. I say finally because I was originally supposed to shoot Nick's homecoming back in December, but once we arrived at the hanger we learned that the plane had to turn around and would be coming home a few days later. My heart broke for Morgan and all the other families who had to tack on a few more days to the months and months they'd already been apart from their loved ones.
