A Winter Family Session on the Wharf | Coupeville, WA Family Photographer
I am so ready to get in the groove of this year and hit the ground running (now that it's almost February!). Since it's a slower season, with cold temps and rainy, lingering days on the horizon, I figured it was a good time to catch up on all of the end of the year sessions I haven't yet shared.
Like this incredible family right here. Just when I thought it was too cold to shoot outdoors, this brave bunch threw on their warmest coats and mittens and made the best of a windy winter afternoon. I loved that Morghan wanted to shoot in downtown Coupeville, along the wharf and pier that is such a Whidbey Island icon.
You'd never know it was so cold out, as the warmth and love of this family oozed into the frame between snuggle sessions on the dock and beach. We also ran around as much as possible to stay warm! Morghan and Dana shared the story of their family with me, including how they met, where they've lived, and why they chose to settle in Coupeville. Their kiddos are such interesting little people as well, and definitely play more instruments and speak more languages than I do!
After the wharf, we scaled a few rock walls to get to the beach, and hunted for treasures under the dock. And (bonus!) the ice cream shop downtown hadn't yet closed for the season, so when we got cold, we just took a break to have a quick ice cream cone. Makes perfect sense to me!
Meeting and working with this family was the perfect way to end an amazing year for my business. I can't wait to work with many more Whidbey families in 2018. Speaking of - if you want to get on the calendar now and have your pick of dates, reach out today! I'd love to chat more about what YOUR dream family portrait session looks like.
