A PNW Ferry Session to Port Townsend | Whidbey Island Family Photographer
Sometimes, the PNW weather really helps a sister out. Like the day of the Ellerbe fam's session, when it pretty much rained all day but cleared up enough to let us pop over on the ferry to Port Townsend and back to Whidbey Island before the drizzle began again.
We've had such gorgeous weather lately, but both Amanda and I were actually excited about the forecast for the day, since their backdrop last summer had been a dreamy sunset family session with loads of light. It was nice to have a different vibe this year, and capture an experience so unique to Washington and life on Whidbey Island.
There was even a wooden boat festival going on in Port Townsend, so the harbor was covered with boats of all shapes and sizes, adding to the character of the already colorful Port Townsend. We walked around downtown and even grabbed a milkshake before heading back to Whidbey.
I love when I can make the experience of family pictures fun for the whole family. When it feels more like an adventure than a chore. When you can just enjoy being together and forget about the weird lady with the camera. I seriously love my job.
