The Moment of Impact | Whidbey Island Homecoming Photographer
I am never fully prepared for the moment of impact. When the planes buzz overhead, and the families realize that FINALLY. Today is the day. The excitement is overwhelming.
Once the okay is given, kids' feet fly as fast as they can to reach him - their dad. Because even though mom has done everything and been there for every practice, game, skinned knee, and dance party - they've missed sharing it with their dad too.
And then there's my sweet friend Jenn. Who literally is ALWAYS there for EVERYONE. And she was bursting. Like jumping up and down, squealing with excitement. Not just because life will be so much easier now, but because her man is home. And the end of this journey marks a milestone for her family. The end of the road. The very last homecoming.
While planning a Change of Command and a cross-country move might stress out some women, Jenn knows that the future looks so bright for her family. Because soon (so soon!) they will be able to put down roots, be closer to family, and be together - for the long haul.
Thank you SO FREAKING MUCH Shashaty family, for your amazing service to this community, and to this country. Whidbey is going to miss you all.
